A pleasant surprise as we followed our GPS's suggested route to the next location, found us driving right by Canyon Falls state park, where we spent hours exploring and photographing on our last trip. Since it was unexpected, we spent only a short time near the top of the falls, exploring the river, which was much higher than it was on our last trip.
The leaves of the Maples and Hemlocks, mix on the ground to form lovely patterns of texture and shape that sum up the spirit of Fall on the Forest floor. I love looking for these intimate landscapes while hiking through the woods.
