Bond Falls upper falls area offered some great intimate landscapes of bold lines and gorgeous color.

Bond Falls

This is the top of Bond Falls, where we stopped on our way to the western most corner of the Upper Peninsula. The trophy shot is the "Z" of the falls crest in Autumn, with the fall color reflected. We did that on our last visit two years ago. This time we looked for something a bit different. This is my version, inspired by my shooting partners great shot. One thing that was common everywhere we went, was a more water. For example, Lake Superior looks like it rose about 3 feet. Here at Bond Falls, there was much more water, and places where I stood are no longer available. Note the background - there is a kid near the shoreline that provides a sense of scale to the falls. As the afternoon progresses, the light on the upper falls section lit the surrounding trees, allowing the soft glow of the reflect colors in the river.

In the Black River Harbor area. The path back to the parking lot, took us through the forest, which provided a chance to explore the areas along the trail. The late afternoon light was beautiful.
