We were quite lucky with our timing, regarding the Fall Color in the Upper Peninsula. As afternoon light approached sunset, the colors of fall lit up the water of Presque Isle.
Late afternoon colors reflected deep fall colors in the river pools. The birch tree reflections were caught in the pool between the shale shelves.
The Lake of the Clouds is in the Porcupine Mountains State Park - 500 feet below this cliff overlook. We hiked to the overlook, to find ourselves dealing with very high winds, forcing us to hold onto our tripods to prevent them from being blown over. Shadows and patches of bright light moved like dancers floating across the trees of the Porcupine Mountains.
