The Lake of the Clouds is in the Porcupine Mountains State Park - 500 feet below this cliff overlook. We hiked to the overlook, to find ourselves dealing with very high winds, forcing us to hold onto our tripods to prevent them from being blown over. Shadows and patches of bright light moved like dancers floating across the trees of the Porcupine Mountains.
The Little Carp River winds its way out of the Lake of the Clouds, through forests of fall colors. This was a very inspiration sight, in spite of the fierce winds that forced us to hold onto our tripods to prevent them from blowing away. Periodically, the wind would pause and then resume its threatening gusts.
